Quilting and loving it!

Following blogs can be dangerous to a quilter. So many great quilts, quilt alongs and other ideas. While I did spend some time with my fabric stash. I ironed, re folded and organized drawers by colors. I discovered new fabric combinations. I worked on a block posted by the Academic Quilter. Simple but striking. I even added some log cabin blocks to the mini quilt. Now trying to decide on final border. Not sure it this is for bedroom or master bath in AZ. I worked on these blocks as I ran out of pink quilting thread on another small sampler I completed. This quilt I used some  pink fabric that I had a lot of. I think the name will be raspberry cooler. Pink with green. Something I do not do often. Quilting with walking foot on small diagonal lines close together. Something I really like. Maybe for the front door. So doing the sewing outdoors, sunny and cooler, but allergies got the best of me yesterday.

We have another showing of the home next week. We will take home off the market October 1st. At lease that is the plan. Hannah is done working at Target. A little rest prior to returning  for final year at MLC. Abi continues for one more week...fun in between. Cherith will work right up to returning to WLC.
Here are some pics.

Beach Boys concert...awesome

For Dan's birthday we got tickets to the Beach Boy concert  at I wireless arena in Moline Il. We stayed at the Radison next door. Took four hours to drive down. Ate dinner at TGIF. Ribs, chicken and shrimp. Was delicious. Took a walk along the river walk just outside our restraunt and hotel. Awesome concert, on the floor level and had to stand to see the videos. All players were great. Here are some pictures of our get away.
Our seats. Could not use iPad due to security.

This was the group. The drummer was great!

Update..what is new or finished?

Summer has arrived in Wisconsin. Hot at humid today, so spent some time in basement..my sewing room. I took my bucket of scraps and paired them like the scrap vortex sewing. I made 8 6 inch blocks. Not sure if they will be pillows or maybe lamp scarfs. I then decided to cleanup the fabric drawers. So started on the top...pink,reds and black. Sure looks nice and surprised on the fabric I have. Several large pieces, some flat quarters and smaller sizes. Some of the scraps I turned into tumbler blocks, the Bonnie leader and end project. I also picked fabric for another 20 Dutch Treat blocks so I have them to base while we travel tomorrow to see the Beach Boys concert in Ill. Now I will have around 50 blocks to work on and a goal of then end of the year??? Then the last 60 I can to in Tucson this winter. We will see. Enjoy the pictures.

Today is Brett Farve day..

Today went to Mt. Horeb to the art festival. Also celebrated brothers law birthday. Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Warm humid day with some brief showers. Today wanted to go to this the outdoor stadium. It sold out in an hour and a half. Our early married years, spent watching this great player play his all every Sunday. Today his number is retired and he will enter Packer Hall of fame.
Welcome home Brett.

Also note that I got a computer upgrade. Spent most of yesterday updating my I pad air. So far I love it. More memory!!!!
Will post my weeks worth of quilting works.

Scrap Vortex....needs small addition

Today I added what I thought was the final row. However looking at it and measuring it I have decided to add one more row. It currently measures 75x104. Want to increase the width to 90. So it looks like it will be closer to a king size quilt. I took some of the spare blocks and vortex them, but I will need probably another day to do some more as it is only a half a row. Oh well...so love the quilt. I am going to machine quilt the circle quilting on the wall hanging for Arizona sometime this week I think. I have a mystery quilt that is close to the end and do not want this I. The machine and have to take it out. I have several small machine quilting projects to work on at this time. But wait, I have to finish the backing which I am using some Hawaiian fabrics. That will take a few days to complete. Good thing I have lots of time on my hand.

It is OURS!!!!

Off to the bank yesterday to get papers noterized, express package back to AZ and a stop al "el mariachi" for a lime margarita to celebrate.

We also had a calling for a viewing of our present home for tomorrow. So fast pace cleaning this afternoon. We also got a call from Mikey that everything is final and the house is ours. "It looks great!"

Now looking forward to 2016 to enjoy this gem and the Sunflower community!
